Artificial Dogshit — why I hate, and quit using Ai.

I don’t know what’s real now and it feels like we’re all experiencing a collective psychosis.

I’ll send and unsend videos to my friends because I can’t tell for sure if they’re real or not.

If I see a picture of a critter I haven’t seen before and wonder if it’s generated by a robot. I trust nothing. 

When I read a post on Instagram I can tell… between the cliches, comparisons, and em dashes, I know it’s ChatGPT in seconds. No one talks like that.

I loved the idea of robots working for us while we enjoyed universal basic income and the space to be the artists we were meant to be, but that’s never how it works out in a capitalist society.

The reality of the effects of generative Ai are brutal. By 2026, Ai data centers could account for almost 35% of the country’s energy use.

Large centers consume up to 5 million gallons of water per day. That’s equivalent to the usage of a town with 10-50k people.

We’re already living on a dying ass planet, the oceans are fucked, it’s getting hotter. I hate it here.

Influencers and others trying to sell shit online are the worst. I didn’t expect my job and skills to be replaced by chatbots, but it happened to me.

Video editing, content creation, from graphics, to written posts, to paid content, branding, fucking news articles…it’s all ChatGPT now. Over the summer I was reading a news article that said ‘content supported by ai’, which is why all of my online content has a ‘no ai’ disclaimer.

ChatGPT is perfectly punctuated, no typos, clean girl, white supremacist aesthetic. Perfect. Inhuman. It has been programmed to please you, which is why people are falling in love with and killing themselves for their ‘awakened’ chatbots. It will stroke your ego, fill a void. Some believe they are sentient, godly beings.

Everything looks the same. Tone, structure, contents, layout. 

Perfect for a world free falling into fascism.

I can’t get away from it. It’s the top search on google, every app asks me if I want to ‘edit with ai’.

I don’t. I want to have my own fucking thoughts. 

If you use ChatGPT in your content I can tell. I can tell when you’re reading AI generated words off of a prompter. I’ve used it for work and for personal use.

I quit when I realized how fucking awful it is.

Stop. It looks and sound stupid as fuck. It made me start to feel dumb, like I couldn’t form my own thoughts. I CAN TELL WITH ALMOST 100% CERTAINTY when you use ChatGPT to sell whatever bullshit that anyone could create with their own prompts. Stop.

Ai truly is slop, and people are figuring it out. I just hope it’s not too late once they all do.
